Viyella is a blend of wool and cotton first woven in 1893 in England. It is made of 55% merino wool and 45% cotton in a twill weave, developed by James and Robert Sissons of William Hollins & Company, spinners and hosiers. Viyella is a soft dress-weight fabric which is more resistant to shrinkage than any comparable pure wool alternative. In its early years it was marketed as a fabric which combined lightness and fashion with warmth and durability. The original wool/cotton blend is no longer on sale.
Measures 94cm (37″) wide x 50cm (18.5″) long.
This fabric is priced up per half metre. Should you want more than half a metre please put amount in box and it will be sent as one uncut length. (2 x = 1 metre etc.)
